1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Ask ICPC, the official multilingual AI assistant of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). By accessing or using Ask ICPC — including signing in with Google via Auth0 — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use this platform.

These Terms apply to all users of the platform, including visitors, registered users, and administrators.

2. Description of Service

Ask ICPC is a publicly accessible AI-powered information assistant that provides:

• Guidance on anti-corruption laws, including the ICPC Act 2000.
• Information on how to report corruption and file petitions with ICPC.
• Citizen education about ICPC's functions, programmes, and activities.
• Multilingual support in English, Hausa, Yorùbá, Igbo, Fulfulde, and Pidgin English.

Ask ICPC does not provide formal legal representation, receive official petitions, or constitute a substitute for ICPC's official reporting channels.

3. Google Sign-In & Authentication

Ask ICPC uses Google OAuth 2.0 (facilitated via Auth0) to authenticate users. By signing in with Google, you authorise us to access your basic Google profile information (name and email address) solely for the purposes of account creation and authentication. We do not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, or any other Google services beyond your basic profile.

You may revoke access at any time via your Google Account permissions page.

4. User Obligations

By using Ask ICPC, you agree that you will:

• Use the platform only for lawful, civic, and informational purposes.
• Not attempt to deceive, manipulate, or adversarially probe the AI system.
• Not submit false, defamatory, or malicious content through the chat interface.
• Not use the platform to impersonate ICPC officials or other persons.
• Not attempt to circumvent security measures, rate limits, or access controls.
• Not engage in automated scraping, crawling, or data extraction without express written permission.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, logos, and materials on Ask ICPC — including the ICPC name, emblem, and official documents — are the property of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission or its respective owners and are protected under Nigerian law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercialise any content from this platform without prior written consent from ICPC.

6. Disclaimer of Legal Advice

The information provided by Ask ICPC is for general informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice, legal representation, or official ICPC guidance. Users should consult a qualified legal professional for specific legal matters and use ICPC's official channels for formal complaints and petitions.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Nigerian law, ICPC and the operators of Ask ICPC shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or reliance on information provided by this platform. The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

8. Privacy

Your use of Ask ICPC is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using this platform, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Third-Party Services

Ask ICPC integrates third-party services to operate effectively, including:

• Google OAuth / Auth0: For secure user authentication.
• AI Model Providers: For generating intelligent responses.
• Cloud Infrastructure: For hosting and data storage.

These third-party services have their own terms and privacy policies. ICPC is not responsible for the practices of these third-party providers.

10. Modifications to Terms

ICPC reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of Ask ICPC after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

11. Termination

ICPC reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to Ask ICPC at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms, disrupts the platform, or is otherwise harmful to ICPC, other users, or the public interest.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, including the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act 2000 and all applicable Nigerian legislation. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Nigerian courts.
